Role Summary: As a 3D Animator / Rigger at Muddy Robot Games, you will be the puppet master behind our characters, bringing them to life with fluid animations and robust rigging systems. Your expertise will be essential in creating animations that are both expressive and responsive, ensuring a seamless player experience in our game worlds. Must be located in the United States.

Educational Qualifications:

  • A degree in Animation, Visual Effects, Computer Science, or a similar field is preferred.

Experience Requirements:

  • At least 4 years of experience in character rigging and animation in a game development setting.
  • Proficiency with 3D animation software such as Maya or Blender, with a strong understanding of the technical constraints of mobile platforms.
  • Please provide a link to our animation portfolio to be considered for this role.
  • Experience with Unity and ability to integrate animations, and scripting into the game world as needed.

Additional Skills and Knowledge:

  • Solid grasp of animation principles and human anatomy.
  • Experience with skinning and weight painting to create realistic deformations.
  • Understanding of physics-based animations and procedural generation.
  • Strong Experience with rigging and parenting 3D objects.
  • A strong sense of attention to detail.

Work Environment: We are currently a fully remote studio. We are calling for individuals across the United States who are ready to join our narrative from 9-5 PM based on their local time zone, Monday through Friday. We are unable to bring on international candidates at this time.

Compensation: Muddy Robot Games invites you to contribute your skills and expertise as a contractor. Instead of a traditional salary, you will receive equity shares in the company, signifying your role as a stakeholder. The initial value of your equity is based on a fair market valuation, corresponding to the agreed-upon worth of your input. 

Our equity compensation model is structured to proportionately reward your contributions. As the company progresses, it’s important to understand that the value of your equity may vary with market conditions and company performance. It is essential for prospective contractors to consult with a professional regarding the legal and tax implications of equity compensation.
