Role Summary: Embark on a journey with us as a Senior Game Developer and become a cornerstone in developing our flagship game. Must be located in the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement core gameplay systems using C++ and O3DE’s specific APIs.
  • Lead the architecture and development of server-side and client-side game logic.
  • Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews to ensure software quality.
  • Optimize game performance and memory usage across multiple platforms.
  • Collaborate with designers and artists to implement and refine game features.
  • Manage integration of audio, physics, and graphical components.
  • Oversee the maintenance of project timelines and documentation.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Game Development, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Experience Requirements:

  • 6+ years of game development experience with at least 1 year working in a game development engine.
  • Proven track record of developing and shipping complex games, ideally RPGs.
  • Expertise in C++ and familiarity with scripting languages like Python, Lua.
  • Strong understanding of game engine architecture and real-time game networking.
  • Experience with multithreading, optimization, and cross-platform development.

Work Environment: We are currently a fully remote studio. We are calling for individuals across the United States who are ready to join our narrative from 9-5 PM based on their local time zone, Monday through Friday. We are unable to bring on international candidates at this time.

Compensation: Muddy Robot Games invites you to contribute your skills and expertise as a contractor. Instead of a traditional salary, you will receive equity shares in the company, signifying your role as a stakeholder. The initial value of your equity is based on a fair market valuation, corresponding to the agreed-upon worth of your input. 

Our equity compensation model is structured to proportionately reward your contributions. As the company progresses, it’s important to understand that the value of your equity may vary with market conditions and company performance. It is essential for prospective contractors to consult with a professional regarding the legal and tax implications of equity compensation.
