Role Summary: As our Visual FX Artist, you’ll harness the magic of visual effects to elevate the gaming experience. You’ll conjure up spellbinding visuals that complement gameplay and enhance narrative. Your expertise will bring a new dimension to our games, making every interaction a spectacle. Must be located in the United States.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement stunning visual effects that align with game concepts and enhance the player’s experience.
• Work closely with designers and developers to integrate effects that support gameplay mechanics and story.
• Create a wide range of VFX assets, from explosive action sequences to subtle environmental details.
• Utilize tools such as Unity’s particle system, shaders, and custom scripts to create real-time effects.
• Optimize visual effects to run efficiently on mobile platforms without compromising quality.

Educational Qualifications:

• A degree in Animation, Computer Graphics, or related field is preferred, or equivalent experience demonstrated by a strong portfolio.

Experience Requirements:

• 3 years of professional experience as a Visual FX Artist in the gaming industry.
• Proficient with VFX software and tools, with a strong understanding of VFX pipelines in Unity or similar engines.
• Experience in creating VFX for mobile platforms, with an understanding of the constraints and optimization required.
• Please provide a portfolio to be considered for this position. 

Additional Skills and Knowledge:

• A deep understanding of animation, timing, and impact as they relate to effects.
• Familiarity with 3D modeling and texturing processes to support VFX creation.
• Knowledge of current trends in VFX and an understanding of color, light, and motion.

Work Environment: We are currently a fully remote studio. We are calling for individuals across the United States who are ready to join our narrative from 9-5 PM based on their local time zone, Monday through Friday. We are unable to bring on international candidates at this time.

Compensation: Muddy Robot Games invites you to contribute your skills and expertise as a contractor. Instead of a traditional salary, you will receive equity shares in the company, signifying your role as a stakeholder. The initial value of your equity is based on a fair market valuation, corresponding to the agreed-upon worth of your input. 

Our equity compensation model is structured to proportionately reward your contributions. As the company progresses, it’s important to understand that the value of your equity may vary with market conditions and company performance. It is essential for prospective contractors to consult with a professional regarding the legal and tax implications of equity compensation.
